B&I Engineering (Pty) Ltd is a South African owned level 2 B-BBEEE entity with complete focus on local expertise and suppliers.

With 37 years experience and knowledge in international trade, B&I is interested in developing broadcasting in both new & existing markets throughout the African continent. This interest is what has lead to our expertise being recognized internationally, allowing the company to lead numerous projects in emergent nations like Nigeria, as well as all the SADC countries.

With a focus on developing our own home ground of South Africa and helping to get their message to the people, we have designed and built both Radio & Television infrastructure for many communities, as well as commercial and government broadcasting organizations.

Our Story & Secret Of Success

1988
  • start of our journey

BROADCAST & INSTALLATION ENGINEERING C.C. was founded in 1988 by Gunther Becker with head offices in Gauteng, Edenvale, South Africa.

2003
  • going global – Lesotho

B&I is acknowledged on an international level by being chosen to lead a major transmitter installation project in South Africa’s neighboring country of Lesotho.

2005
  • Embrassing B-BBEEE

During 2005, B&I converted to a Proprietary Limited company and became a Level 2 B-BBEEE contributor as the company sought to take a leadership position in the South African broadcast industry.

2016
  • new ventures & leadership

In 2016 B&I started a new venture partnering with Mole-Mole Project Solutions and its director Moses Talalamu Phiri.

Moses Talalamu Phiri was also brought on as the technical director at B&I with a 51% shareholding to emphasis the companies support of B-BBEEE.

2024
  • Global recognition & company expansion

With the company proving its position in the industry B&I was presented with an award at the International Broadcast Convention (IBC 2024) in Amsterdam.

Having reached new heights the company was able to increase its office size to cater for larger projects & improved workshop facilities.
